When do you speak out?  Who listens if you do?

A couple from a time past try to dig themselves a brighter future whilst a couple from time present face the repercussions of whistle-blowing.  Making the world a better place comes face to face with the challenges of working together.  Rooted in actual events, Digging the Dirt is a moving fable that provokes questions about the world we're making for ourselves.

Digging the Dirt premiered at The Queen's Theatre, Barnstaple at the end of January 2015 as The Me Show. Still with this title it was radically rewritten and reworked before it played Plymouth Fringe Festival in May and was further developed before Reading Fringe Festival in July where it was Alt Reading's "pick of the fringe".

We have performed Digging the Dirt in studio theatres, village halls, an historic Quaker Meeting House and a Socialist club. We recently took the play to drama faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and to Edgewood College, Madison USA.

We will be posting details of further performances shortly.

"Multi Story Theatre have created an incredibly intelligent and clever political satire." Alt Reading ★★★★★

"There was an almost eerie silence in the room when it finished. It was clear the show had made people consider the issues it confronted." getreading ★★★★★

"Two very accomplished and confident actors who obviously know what they think, know what they want to say and know how to say it. Their plays are well thought out, well performed and, most importantly, balanced – there is nothing worse than a rant on stage purporting to be a play." StageTalk Magazine ★★★★
